|
|
I now have it working on a N80 nokia without having to update the firmaware (to V4). I'm on V3.0617.0.6 (03-05-2006) and so far it (30 minute test drive) has worked as it should.
I'm using a cheap BT77 GPS and Tomtom finds it OK.
So, for all you doubters..... panic not! You will be able to use your beloved Tomtom on your N80 after all!
The only problem is that sometimes the text is very small! |

I can't post the details as it will upset the moderators and the posting will be deleted.
Tragically, then there will be more posting asking the very same question till ultimately Tomtom does admit that version 6 will work on the N80 without going through the palava of firmware upgrading. (And yes I do have the latest firmware to try if the bluetooth connection turns out to be unstable).
My advice is to learn a little Spanish....... |

I think it's great that you can try it out before you buy it! |

I think that it is sad to use the term 'try' the software.
It is pirated and is illegal. End of story.
You can't take an Audi and when questioned by the police claim you were just trying it.

It's always good to see everyone concerned about piracy.
However, my 'legal' dvd was shipped from Spain, via a software distribution centre (run by my friend's father). Cost me alot to Fedex to the UK to play with it. It is registered to me and TT have issued an activition code via the website.
My thoughts were if it didn't work it would go on Ebay to offset the cost.
You can all stop worring now....... and find something else to concern yourself with.
My posting was to illustrate that TT6 WOULD work on an N80 only. I have tried it on my wife's N91 but the installation crashes just after you choose the voice. Hopefully, this should be fixed by TT. |

lupos0_1 is probably one of those idiots buying a car without a testdrive. Haha What a moron. I did not even mentioned anything about piracy.
Have a nice weekend lupos0_1 and take it easy, wouldn't want you to get a heartattack !

My point is that yuou would have the permission to test drive the Audi. If it is a legal copy, then that would be fine. If it is not, then that would be illegal and also against forum rules and the thread will get locked / deleted.
As for calling people names, I am not even going to lower myself to your level. I give advice / opinions where it is sought. By posting on this forum, you have to accept that you are going to get responses, if you don't like that ,then don't post. You didn't mention anything about piracy however it was implied.
VomitySpice has stated that he got this version legally, through an industry contact and has been activated via TomTom. Fair play. _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

Just to confirm your point that YES the on screen text is very small on on the Nokia N80 ...... For some reason ithey've made it smaller than TomTom Mobile 5 version was ... it's strange they shgould make it smaller given such a small screen and the safety aspect that comes into play if people will be straining to read the on screen information ........ |

It's official anyway. TomTom now have the N80 on their list of compatible devices.
No word on the N73 yet but I expect it will appear. |
