Hi,
I'm installing TT Nav 2 on an EG800. I nstalled the application on the default directory and the maps in the CF storage card.
Each time I try to start TT it shows on the PDA display a screen like the one on the pc to add maps and a long text message:

You need to load a map from TomTom NAvigator CD. You can install a map...
|
Since the maps are installed, what should be the problem?
The EG 800 has 2 'internal flash disks' and a CF storage card... may this be the cause for not detecting the maps on the storage card? The ipaq also has a file store and it works fine...
Is there any way to set where the maps are?
Thanks,
Alberto Silva |

You can use a registry editor to verify the map location. Sometimes it also helps if you install a (small) map into main memory, and then switch map which will force TomTom to look for other maps on your machine. Make sure that the directory ends with "...Navigator Map" (unless you change that in the registry) _________________ Lutz

Hi,
The 'Maps' key didn't exist, so I create them but TT kept the same behaviour.
I went to the installation folder and renamed a file with extension .exeo to .exe and now it works!
I think I bypassed the 'wizard'...
Thanks,

oh, you're running GPS 2.09 ... you probably just discovered another weirdo with this version. Not sure what they were thinking when they brought that wizard out... _________________ Lutz

I'm with Lutz - chalk up another victim of GPS 2.09. More information on precisely what installing TomTom Wizard usually screws up (and my misgivings about the Bluetooth DLLs it installs) can be found here.
"Maps not found" is the classic description of a TomTom Wizard problem.
