Hi sorry did not leave my setup
I have the tomtom 300, version 5.410
Can anyone point me in the right direction for the camera voice prompts for this version please.
Allan
As to your problem of not telling you of the correct warning, which camera File(s) did you download? The Single, the Consolidated or the Speed Zoned. _________________ Richard

I have installed Navigator 6 on my pocket PC all is working fine.
Has anyone been able to get the customized speed camera warnings.
I have looked for a data.chk file but cannot locate it.
also looked at the poi extended warnings software but this doesnt say it works for Version 6.0.
Data.chk file is in programs/navigator dir
Ive just wrote one with poi ew10f seems to work, will test fully
in the morning. doesnt say it supports 6 but how could it
only able to use 15 voices though
used liz ogg voice files.
All info and files are on Ray's site above
Many thanks Ray, regards Andyb
Did try the software from Ray's exellent web site, but it only seems to work with about 12 of the the original 15 sounds.
3 of them remained thier original sounds!
Possibly needs a software update
: I have a Axim X50v with Tomtom Navigator 5.21 App Version (5430) So I downloaded this corrosponding file & followede your instructions.
1. Downloaded the correct file backed up the original file & renamed the dowloaded file (5430) to data.chk, I assigned the sounds on tomtom to each of the respective camera types.
This hasn't made a difference I still get the wierd tomtom noises when I approach the varios camera types.

Paul, Welcome to the forum, The file you have replaced should have been data.chk which resides in the MyDevice/ Program Files/ Navigator directory - please note this file is actually on the PDA not the memory card.
Once you have done the above soft reset the PDA, this won't loose any data but it clears the old settings from memory. (simply prod the reset buttton with the stylus and let the device re-boot).
Now run up TomTom and configure the Warn When Near POI to use the correct warning for the type of camera - Mike

Hi to all of you,
and first of all, as you see i'm from germany and schools out for many years now, so please forgive me. I just signed in into your forum a few days ago. The reason was that i was hard looking for something to push up these damm standard poi-sounds. I found the Poi Sound Patcher first, but it didn't work with FW 6.15. In several german forums i found nothing, but then - boom! :D As you might have already thought, my search ended up in your forum. Thanks to Phew for his fantastic little proggi and Ray's TomTom Site. I hope you don't mind that i have posted a thread with a link to his homepage in two german forums, so that the news will spread on the continent as well. By the way, anybody of you around these days in southern germany? The "Munich Oktoberfest" started last weekend, and thats just 50 km (don't ask me what's that in miles, please) from my hometown. There is a chance to share a gallon or so of good bavarian beer.
So long (that's us-english, i presume?)

I don't see any comment about the Oktoberfest? Even if there is, which is the cruel one then? The german beer? Or a gallon of that stuff? Anyway, by birth I'm from lower saxony and there they drink the famous Pils. Just to bring the beer subject to an end, mind if I remember you and your fellow countrymen for this amazing habit to drink it near absolut zero degrees zentigrade. Brrrrr...
Let's talk about the topic now: As from 2002/08/20 until now there are 156.637 views with 840 replies on 57 pages in this forum. Whereever I looked, I found nothing coming near to that. So probably you're right. It seems to me that most of the german forum visitors are interested in voices at no costs, splash screens, maps and problems with firmware. Anyway, I found what I was looking for. Thanks to all of you at pocketgpsworld.com
