Hi, I have bought the NAVMAN ICN 530. I have subscribed to Pocket GPS World and followed the step by step guide for my model. I am able to download the file which is zipped and then after unzipping it things go down hill! The step which says open the file where saved the unzipped folders and then you should see a list of the cameras in your POI Editor doesnt seem to be happening for me. The files when unzipped are in .asc format which appears to be the same as that shown in the help guide. So I dont understand why it isnt working in the way the guide explains.
I would be grateful for any help. Thanks |

I don't have a Navman in front of me but here goes.
Are you having the problem where the POILoader can't see the Files?
If so in the POILoader Box there is an Option of File Types which is by Default showing *.csv, change this to *.* and then look in the C:\Temp Folder. _________________ Richard

Oldboy, the 530 doesn't suffer from this limitation regarding .asc and .csv files and, to avoid confusion, Navmans use their own POIEditor to load custom POIs.
Laura, when you open POIEditor and navigate to c:\Temp, what files do you see with an .asc extension? _________________ Tim |

Ok here goes. I have the POI Editor on the screen. I use the open file to look at the C:\temp folder (where I unzipped the files to) and this is all that happens.
I cant get the items from the folder into the POI Editor. The files of type at the bottom of the temp folder reads (*.*) and I cant select any other option.
Has anyone seen this problem before? I am really not very technical so any help would be great. Thanks |

in the temp folder there are bitmap image files and asc files - one each for gatso, redlight, mobile, specs and temp.
I understand that there are three different downloads and I have followed the directions with each.
Hope this is what you mean |

Right, so you use the 'Open' button in POIEditor to navigate to C:\Temp and you see the .asc files. Can you double click on the Gatso.asc (I know the name is longer than that really)? What happens if you do? _________________ Tim |

Ah realised what I was doing - clicking on the bitmap file which kept saying unknown format rather than the asc file. Really shouldnt be allowed near computers!
So embarrassed
I am really sorry for wasting your time. Thank you so much for helping me. |

Absolutely no problem. Glad you are now sorted and you will be able to put others right who might encounter the same situation. _________________ Tim |
