Yes, but make sure it's a High Speed SD Card. Otherwise you're likely to have problems. _________________ Richard

I have not used it myself but from the TomTom website Quote: | TomTom Buddies is a free service. All you need to use the service , is a MyTomTom account |
You may like to take a look at http://www.tomtom.com/plus/service.php?ID=11&TT=bn5i27ksi56r3vvodrq5g9a656
Regards to the SD card, as you can see I use a Corsair 1GB 133x and Richard is quite right, slow cards spell trouble.

Yes most of the old voice's work fine in the x10 range TomTom's, Although some dont. This is probably something to do with the audio format, Or the fact that some maybe encrypted to only work on a single device. This is to prevent illegal distribution of the voice's. I have most if not all of the voice's available for the TomTom range, 30 and only 25 of them work.
1, After putting the voice file's in the "voice folder" Try reseting the device.
2, Their should be 3 file's for each voice i,e dataXX (Bitmap Image), dataXX.chk, dataXX.vif.
Unless their TomTom original voice's which only have 2 file's dataXX.chk and dataXX.vif |

Hi there,
I'm moving over from running TTN5 on a PDA to TomTom GO510 (which is being delivered today)
I was interested in your comments about using fast SD cards.
1. Do you know how fast the SD card is which ships with the GO510?
2. Most recognised 'fast' SD cards are around the 10Mb/sec (66x) or 12Mb/s (80x) so is the quoted 21Mb/sec (133x) really necessary or is this a bit of overkill?
3. Would I really notice any difference between say 66x and 133x? I mean, will it really respond twice as fast or redraw twice as fast or is it all relative?
Thanks for your time

If the Card is the bottleneck, then it will be a slower re-draw.
Mines X66 and I have no problems. _________________ Richard

OK, thanks for that Richard. So as long as I use something around the 66x or better region I should be OK?
My GO510 has just arrived so I'm off to play.
Thanks for the reply.
