|
|
I think I understand how to load maps into my Nuvi 310 using Mapsource, but I cannot find any description of how to remove them.
Is there a way of doing this using Mapsource or is it simply a matter of deleting the gmapsupp.img file from the device?
Any help appreciated. |

The "deleting the file" method is the only one I'm aware of. Also, if you put the maps onto an SD card, you can use a USB2 card reader, which will be quicker to transfer the maps in the first place, and allow you to safely remove the file, without risk of accidentally deleting the maps built in to the unit. |

I can answer my own query now!
Each time a set of maps is loaded it overwrites the previous set so no deleting is necessary.
There is no danger of the 'master' map file being overwritten in the device itself because the additional map set is a supplement and has a different file name. |

However, the main map file, although it has a different name, can still be accidentally deleted, even though you are correct that Mapsource should not ever go near the file. |
