Anyone going to try this? I'm thinking about it - but cautious as it's not on the list of supported devices.
Can't forsee any problems though. I work in software support - and there's a world of difference between support - and that which simply will not run. _________________ --

Indeed. As TTN6 runs on an iPAQ5555, I should think that a 4700 should be fine. You will even be able to run it in landscape mode. _________________ Tim |

I lost the sound on my hx4700 after installing it; I think that there is trouble with some bluetooth files. I had installed a newer bluetooth stack to add the high quality stereo headphone service, and I think one of the files that came with it has some conflicts with TomTom 6. However, after a hard reset and fresh install everything worked fine. I hated the bluetooth headphones, anyway.
This is with a WM2003 SE OS; I can't comment if you're using WM5. |

So where did you buy it? I thought it wasn't coming out until October. |

have you disabled the sound in you 4700? if so, that's the reason.
unlike tt5,tt6 can not change the sound setting of PPC. |

yes pois can be hidden you can alter the ppc's setting for volume out side of tt6 but youll most likely need to go to the today screen to do it.

No, there was definately wrong with the sound after setup. I think it had something to do with bluetooth audio profiles, like it got switched into a permanante bluetooth audio mode. The iPAQ's sound was enabled, but the volume slider was stuck in the full down position. If you moved it back up, it would pop right back down.
This problem remained after uninstalling TomTom, so I am sure that there was probably a simple fix, like a registry edit or something similar. However, I have gone a pretty long time since my last hard reset-clean install cycle and I just figured it was due. Plus, I stupidly didn't make a backup before I installed...
Anyway, everything is fine now. I had previously installed a bluetooth stack update that was made for a different device. It seemed to work well for several months, until this point. I am not going to use the new stack anymore. However, since the newer stack that I was using was more similar to the stack that comes with the WM5 upgrade, I would suggest caution if you are going to put TomTom on a WM5 hx4700. Make sure you make a backup before you do it just in case. |

Thanks for the input all.
Just had a warrenty replacement (for another 2 years) and not found a PDA better than the hx 4700.
Reluctant to upgrade to Mobile 5, when it comes out in UK.
Always have a problem convincing TT that I want codes for both my 4700 even though only one is ever used and the other is a "hot spare" so I can still do my job.
I use traffic too and have to "register on line" when ever I change over.
TT are doing the same as Memory Map (Version 5) and sticking everything on to a DVD.
Just waiting for TT6 to be released and will be monitoring this forum for any updates.
Cheer me dears, _________________ Bob

Hi
Have installed TTN6 on HX4700 on WM5. Runs fine until I have to perform a soft reset - then standard BLUETOOTH RADIO/DRIVER MEMORY ERROR comes up.
No problems with TTN5 - anybody got similar experience? |

TTN6 all the people installed now is beta version.
It only runs on WM2003, not WM5. |
