well im beginning to think its more hassle than its worth ,
i can pick up between 7 to 9 satalites but unable to get a true fix on then, tomtom say it takes around 45 minutes to get your first fix, but i have tried it and still no joy after 90 mins, everything is set up correctly KNOW thanks to pocket gps world any advise on me getting a true fix on the sats would be very helpful |

can you please verify that your raw NMEA stream contains all the important data? For example if you only receive GSV then you can see the number of stas but the position will not come through (that needs RMC or GGA or GLL )

thanks for all your help on my problems, it was the SD memory card. tomtom told me that cards made in china are unrealable for some reason, shame the retailer didn't know when they sold the kit to me

Well, that's a rather remote reason, isn't it? Let me guess - you have a SanDisk SD card? Those tend to be unreliable, and should be defragmented every now and then.. TomTom seems to be particularly picky with SD card access though - other applications have less problems. _________________ Lutz
