Perhaps they deliberately left it out so that TTN is one level below the AIO devices, in an attempt to entice people into buying a more expensive solution. |

But that's not the standard across the wide range of available units which was my point. _________________ Darren Griffin |

|
|
Gentlemen:
Can any of you shed some light on the maps Navigator 6 will use in the USA?
Being new at this, I can't discern from the announcement if TomTom is making a big improvement or not. Are they changing map suppliers? Updating?
To date, the maps used by iGuidance seem to be much better (though I like the TomTom software better), and if TomTom switched, that would be a big plus.

various places offering a TTN6 download have said the version 6 maps are seriously lacking and also huge.
Been playing with v6 here, quite nice. _________________ Visit Wayfinder Life for all your Wayfinder Navigator needs |

|
|
Darren wrote: | Of course for all of us who have v5 the upgrade offer is the real news. We will of course post details as and when we receive them. |
I contacted TomTom support today asking for information on the upgrade, and received the following email response:
--------------------------------------------------
NAVIGATOR 6 will be available in the US in early October 2006. If you have created a TomTom account at http://www.tomtom.com, we will notify you via e-mail when the update is available, the associated cost, and what steps you will need to take in order to get your copy. Navigator 6 will be available as software only.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
With best regards,
The TomTom Customer Support Team

Do you know if TT vers 6 has the ability to input Latitude and Longitude coordinates that was removed with version 5. This is especially important to a lot of people especially those who use Campsites, Aires and Stellplatz on the continent as most guides now give the Lat and Lon coordinates. _________________ Slow Learner |

As I have been on their Email list for the last 3/4 years or so, should I assume that I will be officially informed of this upgrade ?? |

Yes! Navigate to Options include:
Latitude/longitude: pick exact GPS coordinates as a destination
Also Contact: present in the device's address book. |

to get the speed data you need a v6 map as the data is contained within the map not the application _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

Yeah, I found the lock display thing, I just though the overspeed indicator was some sort of beep when you hit a certain speed. I have maps version 650. _________________ Visit Wayfinder Life for all your Wayfinder Navigator needs |

|

Can anyone confirm that the 'NAVIGATOR 6 - Software & Maps of Western Europe' version is using/going to use NAVTEQ map data. Just been on the TomTom website and the tab for 'Maps & Coverage' say 'TeleAtlas' but the image is the one normally associated with NAVTEQ ? |
