|
|
I have attempted to install the Speed camera POI collection tool (Version 5.420). I thought I'd installed it correctly, when I rebooted my Go it appeared to allowed me to log a speed camera.
When I next turned my Go on the icon for the POI Camera collection tool is is there but when I attempt to open it it just returns to the map, any suggestions whats up I'm at a loss.
Many Thanks |

You have to have a valid GPS fix, otherwise POICapture will exit again. _________________ Lutz

Thanks for the info. Does this mean I need to be stationary at the time of capture? As I have had at least three or four satellites as a fix but was on the move.
Thanks |

Which version of POICapture are you using? There are 2 flavours, 1 for the ONE and another for the GO and Rider.
From your previous posts, I'm assuming you have a GO. You'll need 1.03G for that Version.
Why not upgrade to V6.150 and use POICapture V1.06G, it works better, for me at least.;) _________________ Richard

Thanks, I appreciate your help. However I assume you mean upgrade the operating system on my TTGO?
The installation instructions for the POI capture tool are not to clear (for me anyway!!!) Is there an even simplier complete idiots guide anywhere. I got lost when the instructions say rename a file! what to????
Thanks |

Whilst I accept this is not a matter of life and death, I have a number of camera locations that I wish to submit. On the basis that I wish to submit them urgently I percieve this issue as urgent.
You may not, but if you pass these locations and are not aware of these cameras and get flashed then I'm sure you will agree that you would have wished that I had treated this as a urgent matter.
I hope this answers your question.
Best Regards

It answers it but doesnt help your case, there is a long delay between the time you submit a camera and the time that the update will go out, it could be weeks to months, let alone people downloading it. So I think its highly unlikely you'll help stop anyone being done for speeding tomorrow , and I expect the cemeras will still be there tomorrow as well (In fact, if they arent, just as well you didnt bother noting them)
Urgent here usually means something along the lines of someone needing to get a unit fixed before a trip within a few days to hours. If everyone puts 'urgent' on their messages, when in fact they arent, then there is no point is there, and this wasnt urgent at all, was it? |

Your point is acknowledged and I note the advice
However, as a relative newcomer here I did not realise the protracted time it took to verify and include updates the the camera data base. The requst was made in this manner as I was at a loss rather than with any malicious intent
Cheers
