Q: I am getting warnings on my Nuvi 310 that tell me there are 43 mph speed restrictions ahead on motorways - usually in the area of flyovers - these speed restrictions do not exist in reality. Has anyone got an answer to this, have I downloaded the wrong files? |

the speed restrictions might have been there when roadworks were present... _________________ *************************** |

try reloading your POIs, making sure that the units is set to MPH not KPH as 43KPH = 69MPH

Yep thats the answer, i did it the other day, it was most annoying. I think it was the new version of POI loader that did it. just check when uploading |

As it appears to be occuring near flyovers, and unless it is due to previous roadworks and temporary speed limits, it could be due to the fact that the overhead bridge is a mobile camera site where the speed limit is 40mph on the road above.
As has been said previously tt could also be a mix up with POI loader and unit settings as 43mph is 69KPH. |

Mobile sites are positioned on bridges over motorways but the POI isn't. It's set on the motorway below and just before or after the bridge. If the Mobile camera POI is set to 70 for the motorway then anyone coming along the road running over it will be bonged and told there is a mobile unit there with a limit of 70 mph otherwise. By keeping it on the motorway only those on the motorway will be bonged.
It's a simple case of the MPH and KPH units being mixed up (seems almost every other day this question occurs). Reload the database with the right units set in the i3 and the POILoader. |
