The i3 is fantastic vfm but it does have its limitations |
The Tom Tom One isn't £300, or anything near it. |

i do wish people who ask for the i3 to do things that only a more expensive gps can do,consider the fact that (like you say sanaar) the i3 has limitations.. |
I think you're missing the point.
What REAL purpose does simulation have, if you have to wait for it to process in real time? |

Noted.
But which all went to contend with what the other guy was saying about the simulation speed, and what other sat navs are capable of.
The point / initial question was reasonable - about speeding up the simulation speed. The contention is that it's a budget GPS, and what can you expect for the price, and that more expensive sat navs that allow you to do this all cost more. You and the other guy, contend that this isn't a realistic comparison - but it never truly was a comparison - merely an example...
Which all is missing the wood for the trees anyways, and boils down to this - what point is the simulation, if you have to wait for it to process in real time? |

so the conclusion to the question in the first post is 'no' (for the i3)...and the question of why have a simulation mode is down to user preference... _________________ *************************** |

That simple answer has already been given, most recently by my friend (!) Zogman in the post before yours. And many of us who frequent this forum enjoy the arguments! _________________ Anita

I believe the simulation is nothing more than a "demo mode" that people or stores can use to show off the nuvi.
Sometimes, I even see the simulation doing a "recalculating"! What's up with that! |

That's one of the most bizarre things I've noted about my i3 - recently, I've repeatedly done a simluation (normally aborted after about 5 minutes, though!) to check out whether poiloader was fixed or not when 2.3.1 and 2.3.2 came out - and on the same route, it always recalculates when simluating. What's up with that. |
