Hi guys, new to this SatNav lark, just bought an i3 that came with the software loaded onto the SD card. Anyhoo, tried to load some POIs and it just keeps saying card is full... (This is using direct USB link to unit, I have yet to try with a card reader) Anyone else have this problem? |

Yes, just had the same problem, almost deleted the lot but still no room left after I put a speed camara download onto the card.
I think we will have to get a bigger card?

Welcome to the forum, Elwood12.
This has been covered lots of times.
You'll need to get a card reader suitable for MicroSD cards, or an adapter to enable your card to be read via the SD slot of a card reader.
Put your card in the reader, plug the reader into your pc, and launch POILoader. From the Device drop-down box select the card and POILoader will write to it instead of trying to write to the i3. _________________ Anita

New to it myself, only got my first i3 last week
Had the same problem I couldn't add POI's - I found that after it had powered up once connected to my laptop, if I then turned the i3 unit off and then back on again I could write to the Transflash card using the POI loader. Powering off and then back on before adding each batch of POI's.
Obviously the available space is limited and I had to be selective about my choice of POI's - so I opted for Gatso's, Morrisons stores and all 832 Macdonalds in the UK - sad aren't I? There may be a little more space on the card than this but I haven't got round to looking yet.
Incidentally - If I buy a bigger card for my i3 several questions spring to mind.
a) What's the largest capacity card the i3 can take? - Garmin only list up to 512MB on their 'site.
b) if I copy my exising card to my laptop can I then copy all the data onto a bigger card, enabling me then to add extra countries/POI's as I wish? will the new card work as the old did?
c) is a 512MB card big enough for me to add City Select V8 data for France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and Holland to my UK data, or will I need a bigger capacity card (subject to the limitations of question (a)) failing that will I need more cards?
Cheers

Anita: Thanks for the reply, I think I have transflash adaptor somewhere from when I bought a TF card for my phone. Will check it out and get back. |

Humbly suggest reading Anita's reply then you'll be able to fit all the POI's on your i3's card - you'll be able to get to BK and KFC, too _________________ Garmin i3 gone (sold on eBay)
