Just a heads up for those looking for cheap and cheerful Sat Nav, I have found the Garmin i2 (only difference being monochrome in comparison to i3 from what I can see) on sale for £89 at savastore.com
28 left in stock as I am writing this...

they were, not anymore. comet are pricing them at £129. Not being funny but a colour screen is not worth £40, when my focus is on the road anyway. I'll be listening to directions as opposed to focusing my attention on a screen. |

Colour screen or not, if you don't leave it in the car it won't get nicked! _________________ Anita

An I2 would be a good buy if it was noticably cheaper than an I3.
£3 or £5 isn't significant.
What is a good buy is a C320 for about £220. You got a better unit and all the European maps. + a License to use the maps on two units.
Far better. |

For around £220 I'd personally prefer the TomTom One.
Does the C320 have the newer chipset as the TomTom One does? |

I agree.

But it's more than double the price! I wouldn't use the European maps, only have one unit, and don't feel the need for a touch-screen, celebrity voices (yuk!) or the other bells and whistles!
As far as I'm concerned the i3 does all I want it to do at a price I was prepared to pay. The best £100 I ever spent. :D _________________ Anita

£5 difference between the i2 and i3, try £40 more like. I did own a TomTom One but ended up taking it back, every time it switched satellites the time and ETA would change, so it was never correct. I do think the i2 is better overall, smaller and comact plus less than half the price of the tomtom one. at the end of the day the whole point of a sat nav is to get you from A to B, who needs celebrity voices or mobile/bluetooth functionality or other bells and whistles as mentioned above. |
