I've got this problem that just cropped up that has me perplexed.
I'm using the GlobalSat Bt-338 receiver, an iPAQ H6315, and TomTom 5.0. It's been fairly well over the last several months with only the usual complaints that everyone else in the foruim has.
This week it started acting up. I start the receiver, open up the iPAQ bluetooth manager, and see that the connection status is good, and stays good for awhile. Then I start TomTom and it reports no GPS device. I switch back to the BT Manager while TomTom is still running, and it shows that the receiver is connected for 5-6 seconds, then DISCONNECTS for 5-6 seconds, the connects again for 5-6 seconds, and keeps cycling like this endlessly. Meanwhile TomTom says steadily that there is no GPS device. The flashing blue light on the receiver indicates the same cycling connection (flashing slowly when disconnected, quickly when connected, cycling 5-6 seconds).
I've tried configuring it for "Other cable NMEA GPS" and "Other bluettoth GPS", with the same results.
Has anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions on what to do to troubleshoot it?
Thanks, Lutz, I didn't even know there was a factory reset possible on the receiver. It's not mentioned in the "manual". But I searched and other forums said to pull the battery out for 5 mintues to do a factory reset. Is that what you meant?
If so, I did that (battery out for ten minutes, actually) and the same results. Cycles BT connect/disconnect every 5-6 seconds. The unit is not getting a fix, either. (green light does not come on)
Is there a different factory reset? I think I'll leave the battery for several hours, and see if that does anything.
