Hi
Great forum. Interesting reading :D
I am looking at buying my first sat nav. I am considering all the new TT x10 range and the 2 new Garmin Nuvi's. My question is regarding maps. I want to be able to use the system when on holiday in the USA. I go there every year. The 910 comes with USA maps installed and the for the 510 & 710 I can download the full map or the region I am going to. Full map is around £100 and the regions are around £45.
However with the Nuvi all I seem to be able to find is the metroguide maps which come in at around £250. This seems very expensive compared to TT maps. So if I bought the Nuvi it would rocket the overall price up well over £600. Is there any way of getting the USA maps for the Nuvi any cheaper?
I think I would prefer the Nuvi due to the compact design and from reading around here it seems like the more reliable unit.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I have found MapSource City Navigator North America v8 on ebay through several american sellers who will ship to uk for $114 plus postage. This is around £60 plus postage. This is massively cheaper than in the uk. Is there a catch here? Will it work on a uk Nuvi? Even if i get stung for import duties it is miles cheaper than buying here in the uk.

I think I would go with the tomtom 910.
You're right - the maps are included, and should be updated soon.
I have always perferred the tomtoms because of how user friendly they are.
Just my opinion.
