Hi!
Has anyone tired and succeeded to drain the battreies (and there for reset the unit) on their GR230, and been able to connect to it again after a protocol/speed change?
I have had my unit powered 'ON' since saturday/sunday (5-6 days now) and will try to connect to it on monday-tuesday.

Mike,
Yep i did it and after 7 days it worked like a charme . No problems ever since. The battery drained and then the GR-230 resets into factory mode. I bought this one i november. In tomtom it is not yet supported by name, but if you choose the tomtom gps and com8 by BT then it will work. Also works the standard NMEA bt driver at com 8.

Goodie. ;)
I bought mine during the last week in november so hopefully our units are similar.
I'll wait a couple of days or so before I try it out to be sure I have drained it to the maximum.
Good to know that it may work though.
Otherwise my USB DATA-cable should arrive from the US around the 1-2 week in 2004.
Thanks!

Good news everyone!
My GPS is back, alive and kicking! :D
I drained the batteries for about a week and a half (well, 9-10 days), just to be sure that the internal bettery for sure couldn't possibly have any power left.
I powered it up today and "woula", it started sending me GPS data again.
So if you don't have any options (don't own the data-cable, or can't send it away) then this may be the only way to get it back!
