pocketgpsworld.comFollowing on from the problematic releases of v612 and v614 TomTom have today announced the release of the v.6.15 update for non-GOx10 all-in-one devices.

This update fixes issues with SD cards larger then 1GB, GO Classic v.3 maps not being recognised in HOME and problems with the remote control not working with the GO 500 and GO 700.

As before, theis update is only available via the HOME application, if you do not already have this it can be downloaded here.

Can anyone confirm if this update disables the ability to run the Text to speech on the other GO models?

I don't know if it's just 'cos I'm stupid, but I can't figure out how to get text to speech to work on my 700. Just installed 6.15 but couldn't get it sorted on .14 - Does it actually work then? I just get a message saying because I've chosen a recorded voice (all I use is the default UK woman) that text to speech won't work. Any advice? Thakns in advance [619]

Text to speech only works on the 910? For it to work on other units you'd need the specific True Voice files which only come on the 910 and occupy a huge amount of space anyway.

I can confirm that 2G SD memory now works ( TomTom One ) whereas under 6.14 only the first 1G was accessable.

Can anybody who has installed this confirm whether it still disables the automatic on/off function please? As I understand it this was originally disabled as a bodge (TT technical term) to get over the poor connection on the x10 mounts. We x00 users then had to loose a very handy feature because of it.

If this is no longer the case I will update the wife's 700, if it is I won't

That's what I thought. Just with the .14 upgrade it included options (text to speech) that weren't there before. How huge exactly is huge? Is it possible to get hold of the true voice files and stick 'em on my 700 (space permitting obviously!) Cheers

You're not on your own, my 300 won't even switch off after the update.
