Mio c510e - slow GPS??

I'd guess that this all stems from how closely the road positions in the Mio's maps correlate to their actualy position in your area. If the alignment of the maps and the GPS don't quite agree, the unit has to allow for a certain amount of error and make a best guess about which road you're on.

If you haven't programmed a route into the machine, then it probably errs on the side of caution before deciding that you've done anything other than go straight ahead. The difference between the TomTom and the Mio in this respect may be that the Mio allows for a greater margin of error than the TomTom does.

If you have programmed a route, the unit will require a smaller deviation from 'straight on' to be persuaded that you have decided to take a turn that it has recommended.
