|
|
Hello all,
As you will most likely see from my topic, I am new in this scene. I bought myself a TT 510 which I'm about to explore. In preparation on this I have been downloading maps, voices and plusmaps from several torrent-sites which I hope to be able to install on my mem. stick.
Since anyone speaks about this subject here in this forum I start to be a little nervous because this arouses my suspicion that 1) or it doesn't work or 2) it is not allowed to talk about this here.
Maybe you could give me an answer just writing the number of the answer:)
Thanking you in advance for your kind answers,

Quite simple the answer is that this is illegal theft of software and you will not receive any help getting such Torrent downloads working, If you want advice on the 510 that you have purchased please feel free to ask, but don't bother trying to get illegal maps working on the device - Mike |

Use windows explorer to find the folder where you have stored the downloaded maps. Highlight them, then press file, delete, and confirm. Empty the contents of your recycle bin and this should legalise your situation. |

Tom and Mike,
Thank you for your prompt and clear answer. I was already afraid that this would't work as easy as this.
Possible that I didn't see the worning but maybe it would be a good idea to make a sticky thread warning people to not inform on these issues.
One more question though; do you have or do you know some mIRC channel where one can discuss tomtom related issues?

Lloydd | No I do not know of such a channel, if you need advice on a TomTom related subject (or any other sat nav type device for that matter) simply post a question in the relevent forum, you will get answers as there is a wealth of knowledge available to tap in to on this site - Mike |

Agreed. Just about all torrent content as well as content found on mirc channels is illegal. I dont think anything like that should even be mentioned arond here unless pocketgpsworld want the MPIAA or someone on their cases. |
