i think your right that the standard garmin loaded poi was throwing me off track...... so much info on here but hard at my age to digest it all at once 
as it came with an sd card i take it map (v8) are stored on there?...... or can i just remove the card,see if he unit works and then know the map is internal?...... the last unit in stock,but not guaranteed the latest type of unit i guess.
