You don't have to do anything. The new software will not add that many new features until TomTom release the new maps to go with the software - and you buy them!
Only upgrade if you want the new stuff. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

That's how much they are... Maps are expensive for THEM to produce so it cost US a lot to buy them. They also take a long time to research, so will always be "slightly" out of date. People who have missing roads or whatever are usually really keen to get better/newer maps, and are then really annoyed when the issue is still not fixed on a newer version.
What sgould is saying is that it's up to you: - there is no NEED to update anything, maps or software, if the system is doing what you want it to do.
New software sometimes gives new features, but often causes new problems.
New maps correct some errors but never all of them.
The issue at the moment is that some of the new features that TomTom have introduces (such as indicating the legal speeds for some roads) depends on data that is only coded into the newest versions of maps which are installed on the latest models, but haven't been released as "upgrades" yet. |
