Synchronising Contacts

Having a problem sync'ing my Outlook contacts with Mio C510e.

The first time I sync'ed contacts it worked fine but when I tried again to update them it insisted on a SD card being inserted. Luckily I have one and it resync'ed OK. The new contacts are now on my Mio. I had a look at the card in my PC but and is empty but the Mio still insists that the card is inserted to view my contacts. Interestingly I can take the card out while viewing contacts and they are still accessible but if I switch the Mio off it needs the card inserted to view contacts.

I really don't want the card used this way so what's the answer?

Getting confused here.

I am thinking that this nothing to do with contacts. Whenever I connect the Mio to my PC now I get a screen showing the PC, a USB symbol and the Mio with an X and finger showing that the SD card is not inserted. I don't want to put anything on the card. This must be Mio Transfer trying to do something.

Further to this I only get this happen when I select Contacts on Mio Transfer. I don't have do the sync.
