|
|
Can anybody help please?
I am attempting to use CoPilot for Smartphone which DOES work with a C500. However I am attempting to use my TomTom Bluetooth GPS.
I have successfully created a Bond for the GPS device, but CoPilot states "No GPS signal". Using CoPilots autoscan only generates the "Automatic GPS connection failed..." message. For the record the GPS is 100% working as it works with my XdaII.
My suspicion is that TomTom have sabotaged their GPS to stop it working with CoPilot or vice versa. Does anybody have any help they can offer other than buying another Bluetooth GPS just for the sheer hell of it? |

I don't know CoPilot Live Mobile, but are there other choices besides the autoscan? Can you manually specify the BT serial port? _________________ Lutz

TomTom have not sabotaged their receiver! I have mine working with CoPilot albeit on the E200.
I don't have a C500 so can't help with the specifics but you need to follow the pairing instructions supplied with CoPilot to the letter to get the two working. _________________ Darren Griffin |

There is a known bug on the C500 which makes pairing work but no application can use the GPS.
The best way to pair a device successfully is to
1) delete all pairings you have
2) go into configuration and disable outbound COM7 and OK
3) go back and re-enable COM7
4) power cycle phone
5) Go in and re-enable COM7 again (it's unchecked)
6) This will throw you into Bluetooth pairing
7) Create a new bond and pair key
8 ) Before doing anything else, power cycle phone
9) Go back in and double check that COM7 is now enabled under Configuration
10) Now use any GPS application and it should work.
It's a PITA but if you differ in any way from this setup, you'll find that COM7 will be enabled but it will be dis-linked from the BT GPS pairing and no application will be able to see the GPS. |

hope someone reads this thread.
I tried following Dave's instructions but I only have access to the COM ports when I have a paired device via the menu - no option in the configuration menu.
Phone has just come back from Orange so I suspect it has the latest ROM. have loaded TTM onto phone but it will not connect to BT - using TTBT mk1 and new GPSlim236.
I tried getting the traffic patch but the TT website is down. Would appreciate someone posting it if poss.
Any ideas? _________________ Iphone & Copilot (Retired- Ipaq 2210 ROM1.10.07, TTN5), Road Angel and occasionally TT one |

Man, this has been nearly two years ago. That version of TomTom is long gone.
Easiest for you will be to upgrade to TomTom Mobile 5. _________________ Lutz

I would double check, I've had phones repaired by Orange that have come back with no ROM Updates applied. _________________ Darren Griffin |
