|
|
Having seen that a later camera file was available, I ran Camera Updater and it told me to load the new data.
This is where it all started to go wrong. App locked up all the time.
I tried a system restore to before I used the Camera Updater, still locked up. Great I thought, how am I going to track this down.?
Put the laptop back as it was. It is on XPH.
Then loaded POILOADER to my desktop (W2K), same problem.
Suddenly had an idea, as I keep the POIs in one folder and the cameras in another and I realised one replaces the other, and I was just trying to load the cameras.
Tried loading he POIs only, works fine.
Tried loading the cameras,.... locked up.
Anyone experienced this with the latest camera file download after conversion by the program.?
TIA |

Further investigation.
POIs load fine on their own.
Cameras load fine on their own.
Cameras & POIs load fine as CSV.
Cameras converted to GPX with GPX converter.
POIs and those GPX files load fine.
Dragged camera zip file to Camera Updater (previous version), tried loading, locked up.
Ran new camera updater, it found and updated files, tried loading, locked up.
That is it for now, its late.... |

Hi, last night I used asshes program , it worked fine, then I THOUGHT I had a problem, POILoader seemed to lock up! Bu ti din't really, I decided to be patient and after many minutes it finally finshed. So try again and have a coffee while you are waiting. There seem to be many more Speedcams than my last download!
But the program seems great. _________________ Ipaq hx2750, TTN5, Globalsat 338 GPS, Garmin Nuvi 310D and GTM12, TomTom GO910 and now GO540

No it definately locks up, comes up with not responding.
This was all for info really as I have located the fault and can bypass it.
As it worked Ok, the very first time, I would *suspect* something different about the file, and how it ended up being converted. |

Until i change the value of one of the timings then and only then when hitting OK does it generate new GPX files. |
Well spotted, and you're quite right 8)
After a new database is downloaded, the application spoofs a click on the OK button - which as we all know does nothing unless a setting has changed. D'oh
Should get a new version out in the next day or two :D |

If that was the case with my problem, I'd expect the bmp file to cause the same problem, no matter which program created the gpx files.
As long as I know of the problem, I can get around it easily. Whne the nect camera file is ready, I'll try again. The worry was 'what' had gone wrong, and how was I going to load in future.

v1.0.0.1 beta is now available!
http://tinyurl.com/nvlm4
1. Auto-reload feature is fixed.
2. Settings tab order is sorted.
3. GPX files now automatically regenerated following database update.
Enjoy! ;) |

Any idea's? | There is still a problem with this which I will PM to Ash directly. To make it work ensure that there are no spaces in the path for Camera Manager.exe (that includes the space in Camera Manager). So put it in a location such as C:\AshTools\Camera_Manager.exe , run it once and then it will work from that location. _________________ Garmin i3

Odd - no problem whatsoever with spaces in filenames using Win2K SP4...
Must be another one of those XP "features" |

Okay, it looks like there's a subtle difference in the way that XP and 2K handle filenames that contain spaces.
If you're running XP, either do as suggested above and rename the file, or wait until I can issue a fix later today 8) |

Windows XP Pro SP2 works fine without renaming the file and with spaces in the path - D:\Garmin\Software\Camera Manager.exe
Beerbellybill999 - did you get the latest download and run it?
Request:
Can we have an option where CM quits after checking for an update if there is no new update? i.e. it only remains running in the tray when an update has been downloaded etc etc? Maybe with a 5 second pause so you can see it DID run and then quit. |

If you QUIT CM at anytime then the auto start registry entry is removed until you run CM again, so if like me like CM to run and then hit QUIT to close it it won't auto start next time. |
