Just a quickie, to say how totally amazing I have found TT5 these last 6 weeks in Spain and Portugal...two minoir glitches only...due to new road construction. I have been locked into TT since the early days and before I left, hunted around for addiotional POI's which we felt might be useful, and so they were. If you know the roads in Portugal, you will know what I mean, but TT took us straight to a very obscure campsite we wanted as one example...my wife is now convinced that it wasn't (just) a boys toy thing.
Just out of interest, I was towing a caravan with a top end Honda....a word of advice, the inbuilt Honda satnav can only be described as total and utter rubbish...maps way out of date...I could go on and on, but anybody thinking of getting it DON'T, (unless it was chucked in free like mine was..so called.) Why on earth these car people don't do a deal with a proper sat nav supplier like TT beats me. |

I must agree about TTN5 - I also tow a caravan and its great for finding campsites. I have used it across France and in Switzerland
Another feature is knowing whats the ETA. As we have 2 under 2's its useful to know when there is only around 1hr left of the journey as this makes a good stopping point - also when we are politely requested to stop - in only the way a 2yr old and 3 month old can - we can locate rest areas or even just venture off the Motorways sure that we will always be able to find our way back onto the Mway.
Sat nav - couldnt live without it.
p.s. I have just created a direction specific motorway service station POI file - see other post in this forum. |

I have had TT5 since it first came out. I upgraded from TT3 and I am convinced that TT5 is far superior when compared with its predecessor. I know that TT5 lacks some of the features that were standard on TT3 but as far as I was concerned they were only gimmicks.
I too have used it on many occasions on the continent and it has never let me down yet. I will be going on my holidays touring southern France in two weeks time and all my routes and excursions are already programmed into the Itinerary mode and ready to go. I couldn’t do without it. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

I presume you had the most up-to-date Iberia map for Portugal. The version that came with the cd update set a while back had most of the Algarve missing when I went to use it in anger this summer. |

Not sure about the Algarve, we were in Lisbon and along the coast and inland North. |
