Not necessarily. Early models had the maps on a mini SD card, later ones have the maps on the internal memory and no card, although there is a slot should you wish to purchase a card for storing additional POIs etc.

Hi,

I bought an i3 today from Comet for £99. It comes with a 256 Micro SD card. After registering the product with Garmin it lists the Mapsource product as "City Navigator Europe NT+ v8 - Region 2 (Fra)" and the region as "City Navigator Europe NT+ v8 - Region 2 (France), Sept 05".

Does anyone know exactly what areas this will cover? I seem to be able to get street level mapping for northern france but not beyond Rennes. Tried Bordeaux and no places were found.

Also, can you back up the SD card to your PC?

Thanks
