Hi,
Did it keep working? I presume the limit would apply to the NMEA data stream from the GPS, which is perhaps typically 50 bytes/second. This would reach a 100k(byte) limit in something under an hour.
Most people use GPSGate for this purpose, which at least in its "Lite" version is significantly cheaper :-) .
Yes it did. In the application help it refers to a 1Mb limit rather than 100k quoted on the website, so maybe that's why it ran for well over an hour.
I know that GPSGate is the usual route, but if this demo works for long enough per session, it'll do for me! Can't get cheaper than free! :D _________________ HP rx5935, 2GB SD Card, TTN 6.1, GPSDash

Hi,
Have you discovered what they mean by "until reboot" yet? Is that just a re-start, a soft reset (not much of a problem) or a hard reset (no thanks!)?
I suspect the data rate is more than my estimated 50bytes/sec, particularly if they add the separate streams together, but I couldn't see why it hadn't already died within half an hour.
No - I hope it would be a restart! I've just commenced another test. GPSDash and TTN5 running on my trusty Mio 168 sitting on the window sill. I'll leave it there and report back later. _________________ HP rx5935, 2GB SD Card, TTN 6.1, GPSDash
1 hour 17 minutes before everything stopped working, and a soft reset to get it going again, so I think you were right. Looks like I'll be buying GPSGate........... _________________ HP rx5935, 2GB SD Card, TTN 6.1, GPSDash

Hi,
Thanks for the useful information. It looks as if they do add the data bytes in all the streams (in, out1 and out2?).
I already have the lite version of GPSGate (bought when they were offering it discounted some time ago ), but I'm always on the lookout for good value software .
