I've had problems getting traffic over the past couple of days or so too. There is obviously a problem on a national scale. I am in South Yorkshire. |

Problems in Leicestershire as well. Sometimes it shows traffic info and sometimes not.
Does anyone know where aerial splitters, cable and connectors can be obtained so I can connect to the cars original sat nav aerial (in the Boot) to improve reception?
I hope someone from Garmin looks at these forums because it seems to be a problem for a growing number of people.
Cheers. |

If you hunt lower down the post list here you will see my posts re this problem.
I went into a local car radio and sat nav fitting emporium who provided a splitter for the aerial and a connector with a "FAKRA" connector that fits the aerial socket on my GTM 11.
I was supplied with " AUTOLEAD PC-105 AERIAL Y-LEAD "
" TUNER FAKRA CONNECTOR "
Solved my reception problems, but you still lose signals in dips and valleys in some places. Works brilliantly in France by the way, with even minor Autoroute road works coming up. |

This is normally achieved by putting a Y cable splitter in behind the car radio (easiest access into the radio feed). |

The trouble is, with the 310D you get supplied with a GTM 12, so there is no way of connecting itto the car antenna!

Thanks for the info everyone. I'll be off to the shops this weekend to see what is in stock.
By the way, I've noticed (and it happened again this morning) that I can get TMC reception one minute, but a few minutes later in the same location (after filling up with petrol, stopping at the cashpoint etc.) not a dickybird. This has happened on several occasions and in several places. I'm no expert but is it possible that this could be something to do with the unit or the software running it? Just a thought. |

It could be down to pure luck, but I seem to get a better response from the TMC on my 310D if I plug it in after I've powered the unit up. Can only guess its something like a PC loading a usb device driver |

I've had no traffic data for about a week now and I'm getting extremely frustrated :x I used to be able to pick the signal up in the house and now I can't pick anything up. I am fully updated with the latest firmware. When I search for traffic providers it now finds nothing. Has anyone else had these problems? |

At least its not just me then, mines not working amazingly well. My journey home which includes a very short stint on the M1 takes around half an hour, I'm lucky if the traffic info has appeared after about 20 mins
I didn't think it was road dependant.
Might be up to Halfords tomorrow to se what they think. |

Keep them coming, the complaints re Garmin Traffic, that is. I am back to Halfords on Monday, I will report back when I have been.
I bought the 310D spcifically for the Traffic, the European Maps where just a Bonus, as I do not drive in Europe.
The annoying things that there does not seem to be a point of contact for the problem. I have had one reply from Garmin with a suggesteion re the positioning of the TMC, that did notheing so I have fed this back to Garmin and am waiting for a reply.

Funnily enought I was searching the internet for this sort of thing.
I have a 2GTM receivers in seperate cars. One running of the cars aerial and the other the GTM with the aerials.
Both have gone dead this week.
I drove from Leeds to Scarbrough and they shut off the A64
No Traffic signal at all all weekend and since... |

Just a thought, but has anyone contacted Trafficmaster??
It must be a problem with the broadcast I would have thought.
And Im driving from Leeds to Woking tomorrow and you know Im going to get tangled up on the M1 or M25 and need traffic diversion |

Leeds to Woking
M1 to A43 take the A43 past Silverstone to M40.
M40 to jnc 4 High Wycombe and take the A404 to the m4 . You then toss up re going right to Bracknel and then to Woking or Left to the Winsor Exit and across to Woking.
I do the trip regularly Leeds to Woking and back.
t only adds about 7 miles to M1 , M25 but saves a hell of a lot of time and frustration !
It's well proven as best quickest route ! |
