Seriously interested as well as I am looking at ditching the PDA for the car. Seems TTN6 on mobile maybe a while off (considering they are having issues with their own hardware, let alone anyone elses!) and so I am looking at the alternatives. _________________ iPhone5, TomTom, Google maps, Navfree, Viewranger and Apple Maps (ekk) |

Has anyone confirmed whether Mobile 7 will work on the N80 yet ?
Looking at the Route66 site I can't see the Nokia N80 listed as a supported phone anymore ???? |

Here's a copy of an email from route 66..
Dear customer,
Unfortunately I have to inform you that Nokia N80 is not compatible with our software at the moment.
The N80 has problems with the Bluetooth connection and the memory due to the firmware of the phone. Because of that, N80 was taken out of the list of compatible phones. We have confirmation from Nokia that this problem is caused by BT power consumption reduction change which was introduced in the latest firmware. Nokia is working on a fix that will be published shortly.
Kind regards,
Andrea COROI

Just to let you know, but Nokia have released a new firmware for the N80. It is version 4.0623 which should resolve the bluetooth issues that Route66 2006 has been removed for. If you check out the Navicore website they now suppose the N80 but only with updated firmware.
Could be something worth looking at. _________________ Rob aka Penfold |
