|
|
Hi,
TT5.2 wireless GPS on Dell Axim X5 w/Bluetooth CF card, for our holiday this year we're driving from UK to Italy and TT has planned a route for us, is there a way to access and copy the waypoints TT has calculated. I want to input these waypoints to PC software and print maps showing our route. TT itinerary's will not work because the user selects the waypoints rather than TT calculating them.
TIA - John |

Welcome to the forum.
What you want is not possible with the standard tools. However, the SDK (Software Development kit) has a function to retrieve route step information. So someone could write a 3rd party app that would extract that data into ITN (itinerary) format. As far as I know nobody has done that yet. _________________ Lutz

Could you not use ITNConvert to convert the itinery file to .axe and load it into Autoroute? _________________ Charlie Gregory

Hi there
I was thinking of knocking together something similar just the other day, following a "light-bulb" moment when I read another recent post by Lutz. In my case it would be to take a TomTom calculated route and convert it into a GPX file for use with the new feature "find geocaches along a route" on the geocaching.com website. If I get that working, creating another format output file shouldn't be too hard.
Let me know exactly what output format you would want for your waypoints file, and if I do get anywhere with it I'll add that option and post you an early copy to try out.
No promises when, mind you, so I hope you're not setting off for at least a couple of weeks! _________________ Barry Davies

Thx Barry,
Regarding the format I'm not sure what data the SDK gives you access to but something comma delimited containing the name of the waypoint, the problem comes with the volume I guess, like I need 1 entry for Calais preferably not 15 gzillion - but this sounds very promising. BTW I leave on July 27th so there's no pressure.
