Does this do A - B Planning like on the TomTom One ?
It would be useful to look in advance the distances/routes/times etc between say Cardiff and Cardigan or wherever. Not just from where I am now.
thanks |

On teh Nuvi you can set your location by scrolling around the map and tapping the screen. Once you've done this, if you then tell it to GO to wherever, it will calculate a route and you can find out the distance as a result. |

See my post above.
With the GPS off (antenna folded flat) go to map view. Touch the map and scroll (drag) the view around, zooming in/out as necessary. When you get to point A, press Set. Loc. This fools the unit into thinking it's somewhere other than where it may actually be. Then go into your Where To menu and select your destination (point B). Once selected, press GO and once the route has been calculated, and it asks you if you want to simulate the journey, press NO.
In Map View, if you now press the lower left corner, the subsequent trip screen will tell you how far you have to go i.e. the length of the journey.
It sounds a bit long winded, but it's easier to do than to describe. |
