|
|
Hi there,
I've a new 1940 and TomTom software and GPS bluetooth kit, and i'm having problems getting the GPS to connect with the ipaq.
I've done the pairing, seen the bluetooth light go constant blue on the GPS arial, tried to change the serial port to COM5 as instructed on tomtom.com - but it won't let me tick the checkbox - only on COM8.
basically, i can't get the ipaq's gps to operate; please help!!!
many thanks

Not sure why the TomTom are telling you to use COM5, the BT COM port is invariably COM8, try it on this and see if you get communication with the GPS? _________________ Darren Griffin |

there's no tick box against 'receive all incoming beams' - can't change it - take it there should be something there to change this setting?
its just a white screen with a single line near the top underneath the black line below beam....
now, has it screwed up?

global reset mate - did the trick. press the reset button on the side AND hold down the power button at the top - it resets the pda to factory settings, and the check boxes should all be ok. of course, you loose everything thats on there, but it solves the problem and the tomtom navigation works a treat now.
cheers

dunno, overall software problem that was solved by resetting the thing - the main problem was the absence of the check boxes, mainly not being able to turn off the beam and select com 5 for the gps |
