Hi there, just uploaded the latest speed camera database for my New Nuvi 310D and it appears to have been successful as the system works fine and I can also view cameras on the unit.

The problem I now have is that when I now connect to my PC to use the POI uploader or Web updater, my PC does not detect my Nuvi, even though the unit itself shows that it is connected to a PC....

Anyone else had this problem, or know of a solution?

Many thanks in advance......

Just tried your suggestion, but no joy i'm afraid.

The PC doesn't even acknowledge there is a USB device attached like it normally does.... Sad

Thanks anyway, any other takers?

I had the same problem on my i3. It no longer detected the device. The only way around this for me was to uninstall my usb ports via device manager and windows automatically re installed the ports

I then plugged in my i3 and it saw it as new hardware and reinstalled the driver.

Sorted!

This unfortunately also meant that It had to reinstall any other usb devices again.

I hope this helps

Thanks very much...it worked :P

One thing for anyone else with the issue. Make sure the Garmin is plugged in as you reset the machine, otherwise it's not picked up as the usb's are reinstalled.

Cheers mate 8)

It shouldn't need to be plugged in when you restart your machine. Once your machine has been restarted it should auto detect when you conect it to the usb lead

I agree, it should. However in my case, for some reason, it didn't work until I did as above....maybe just my dodgy machine Wink

I had trouble getting my PC to detect my i3 when it was connected via a hub. As soon as it was connected directly to a USB port it was fine.

Nick.
