Just load the new maps, the old ones will be erased.
The US base map will remain though, it can't be changed. |

I have tried to do it, I have tried to upload the CityNavigator Europe v8 but I can upload only maps on the 115 MB of free memory and I want to delete all the 2 GB of memory (not base map but City Select North America v7).
PS: scuse me for my english but I'm italian :D |

You can't erase the preloaded maps, only use the additional memory (115MB for the US version, 512MB for the european version) for loading other maps. _________________ Robert Elsinga =8- )

There is a way to erase memory because is not a ROM memory (if it is a ROM memory you can't upload Quest2 and this is possible).
Garmin say me that I can upload preload maps (City Select North America NT v7) with City Navigator Europe v8 but they don't say me how to do it.
Maybe I need a special program or a key for erase all memory.
I have buy a Quest2 in american version because Garmin say me that I can upload it with european maps on american maps and now I can't do it!

You can:
- upload other maps to the additional memory
- update the preloaded maps with a newer version
I guess it could also be possible to update the preloaded maps to another mapset, if Garmin's software allowed it. With a custom firmware, it could even be possible to free all memory for uploading maps and thus get rid of the preloaded maps. But by default, you are left with the above mentioned two options.
I'm sure Garmin meant the first option... _________________ Robert Elsinga =8- )

Ok! Thanks Elsinga.
If someone nows how to delete all the maps I'm very interested because I can't use my Quest2 in American version in Europe so I have to sale it if I can't clear maps.
Thank! |
