Hi All, i would really appreciate some help on this problem please..
I have recently purchased 12 tom tom one units for my company, and have just purchased the boxed disc set of maps of western europe.
I have loaded the discs onto blank sd cards without a hitch, and they appear to work fine on MY unit..
The problem starts when i insert the sd card into one of our delivery vehicles unit and the message appears 'this software is already registered' surely the software will work on any unit as long as i have the (legit.) installation code?
If this software will only work on the initial installation unit (which i find disgraceful, considering how much i have spent..and NO mention of this when i bought this software) is there any way around this problem?
thanks |

looks like youve bought a personal version you should have looked at a corperate lisence from tomtom. i have seen it on there but cant find the link for it at the minute. Tomtom maps have always been like this you get one activation then a second unit 7 days later then one activation every 6 months regardless of how many units you buy this is all in the license agreement you argeed to when first activating the maps of western europe _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. The maps are the same as ANY commercial software, you have NOT bought the maps, you have bought a licence to use them, and that licence specifies their use on ONE unit.
You can't buy one copy of Windows XP and expect to be able to use it on all the PCs in your office can you? |

The EULA (End User Licence Agreement) between you and Tom Tom makes it VERY clear that you are only allowed to instal the product on ONE system at any one time. You agreed to it when you hit "confirm" or "I agree" (not sure which it is now) when first installing.
Ss every one else has said what other software allows unlimited (legal) use on many machines? Unlike some others Tom Tom protects its software by write protection. _________________ Peter
