HI, I'm new to the forum, hoping someone can help me out with a choice of GPS receiver. I'm developing an application on a Psion Workabout Pro, which has a spare compact flash (CF2) slot. I need to plug in a GPS receiver; but the space is very limited. I bought a Fortuna Pocket Xtrack only to find that it's too bulky - the body fouls the built-in GSM/GPRS card. What I'm really after is a super-slim GPS card; or at least one which a longer slim section (i.e. the CF connector) so that it will fit properly in place. Does anyone have any recommendations? (other than the obvious one of dumping the Workabout Pro and getting something better; the customer likes them) |

At the Holux 11mm it's slim, however from the picture the CF section looks to be about the same as the Xtrack; the problem is that the foul point is at the shoulder where the thin CF section becomes the thicker black plastic section. What I'm really after is the Holux but with a longer CF section! |

Here is some extra information, the thicker part of the GR-271 starts 3,5 MM above the top of the Ipaq-4700, if this gap is insufficiant you could try a couple of addaptors from left to right in the image below is a "Compact Flash to PCMCIA" addaptor it is flexible allowing you to bend the other bits around the back of the host PDA, into this you insert a PCMCIA to CF carrier then insert the GR-271 - it works fine as I have just tried it! - The CF to PCMCIA is avail from Here - Mike
