Dear Sirs
it would be interesting to know if you or anyone out there are planning to create marine charts for the tom tom go 700 it would be a fantastic addition to the GO to be able to use it for more than just position when i`m on my boat also it would save the cost of a chart plotter for the boat (why own 2 devices) There must be thousands of people like me who go out to sea as well as drive cars, a potentially large market and additional revenue source.

As a very old seadog used to navigating N.Atlantic with a sextant and using rhumb lines along a great circle track, can you tell me if the mapping software used in conjunction with a gps receiver gives a Great Circle Track to a destination.
I know plane sailing is ok for distances for a couple of hundred miles or so.
I presume if you select say Avonmouth as departure and New York as destination, will the track it works out and shown on the display as a straight line(presumably straight), be the shortest route (ie) Great Circle Route?
