Hi Guys
last night I tried a new SD card in my Tomtom One and when I turned the device on I couldn’t see anything but a white screen, I reset the device so many times but to no avail I don’t know what could be causing this I even tried with the old SD card but the problem is still there and when I switch the device on I only see a white blank screen can anyone please help or point me to the right direction. |

good thinking... but with a wrong bootloader the screen shouldn't be white from the start, it only whitens when the kernel panics. I'd rather think it is a hardware failure. _________________ Lutz

It's not thinking, it's experience - 6 customers so far who've done that :-) and some of them described the screen as "going white" |

"going white" is definitely a sign of wrong boot loader. But "white on switch-on" should be different, or? _________________ Lutz

you'll see the Hands of Death :-) when you first switch it on, but the next time it would be white screen, uome didn't say how it happens exactly. |

Anyways I had to take it back and got a new one. |

I was trying to upgrade my SD card on an old TT One (4N00.003) so that I could install the latest version of Navigator and got hit by the "unable to activate my maps" bug where I could do it via TT Home but not the device.
Found this thread http://www.yournav.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7281&st=22 with a solution and found the files and the procedure here http://www.satnav-shop.com/index.php?ln=en&pg=6&sec=19.
Followed it and all went well except on reboot I got the white screen as described above. I assumed the flash had gone wrong but now it occurs to me that I was working with a backup SD card and I may have inadvertently used the one from my TT Go.
Am I sunk? Anyway to fix this? If it helps I have another TT One unit that still functions. Anyway to copy the kernel across?
Any advice appreciated.
