|
|
Hi,
Anyone used one yet? Is there a review on how useful (or not) the traffic antenna actually is?
It sounds great - a device to replan your route, depending on the traffic reports on your route but how does this relate to reality?
£70 seems a bit steep but is it worth it?
Cheers,
Carl. |

Ah, yes, just had another look at Easy Devices

and noticed they say pre-order!
OK, question 2. Anyone know when they will be available? |

you are not really expecting anybody who's been on these forums for more than two months to buy anything from the first batch of any new TT product, are you? |

Eldar - meaning is lost on here - are you being sarcastic or serious about not buying from the first batch? Maybe I've been lucky with mine - touch wood -
Melennium - Mobile Fun have changed their dates overnight - back to 3rd July (now shifting release dates DOES sound familiar!)
Thanks people.

Sarcastic or serious? I'm being both - GO Classic: CLA disaster; GO 3/5/700 - signal level drop when conected to the cradle; 5/7/910 series - cradle disaster. TT eventually resolved all these problems, but buying from the first batch is unwise. I'd let other people suffer.
If you want my predictions for the TMC module then the problem is going to be with the FM RDS channel reception. |

I'm always too impatient and end up doing the 'volume testin' for the manufacturer!
Eldar, your strap line says to visit your website but there isn't a link/URL!

it's because the owners don't allow direct links in the signature - press the WWW button |

Nice one Eldar, i like that. Gave me a chuckle over brekkie.
But, how right you are. I know we all keep doing it because we want the latest gizmo's but TomTom just keep on supplying us with equipment that is rushed onto the market, just so that it gets maximum impact from the cebit convention. Where are the accesories?, well they follow up 6 months later- if we're lucky.
How many of us got a new go to have the traffic free for a once only payment for this antenna, and where is it - you've guessed it. |

It's a bit like any software product. Never buy any thing that is version XXX.00. I always let the rest of the world do the testing that the manufacturer didn't get round to before buying. I don't buy a car until it has been on the market for at least a year, and had the recalls sorted. By then the production models will have the mods included.
With hardware, it's the same. I don't have the latest toys, but when I do buy them, they normally work. |
