Problems with latest MAPSOURCE ver 6.11.1

Guys,

I downloaded the latest version of MAPSOURCE (6.11.1) available on the Garmin website onto my PC over the weekend and travelled a route of approx 100 miles planned using the new version on Sunday. Not a good experience !! The Quest recalculated my route a no of times while driving on the highway without having deviated from the route, the update of the displays was extremely slow and it took approx 5 min to calculate the route home after pressing and holding the FIND button. Has anyone else loaded this latest version and used it to calculate routes?? What are your comments? I think I will go back to the previous version.

Quest1 or 2?? I have seen that Garmin are recalling Q2's because of slow redraws ect. http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75421

I have just sent Garmin an email to ask them to confirm or deny these recall rumours for the Quest 2. As soon as I get a reply I will let you all know either way what they say.

Well I have got to say Garmins response was super quick and here it is:-

Thank you for contacting Garmin Europe.

We have not heard of any plans to recall the Quest 2. Unfortunately the unit
does perform slightly slower compared to the Quest, but there are no plans
to recall the Quest 2.
