I used to use POIWarner for TT3 and since upgrading to TT5 and the latest version of POI Warner had nothing but problems. The problem is that the POI Warner and TomTom5 exchange messages through files in the SdkFileCalls directory then some error occurs and I get a SDK Error messagebox appearing, which when cleared instantly brings up another, filling the directory with outstanding messages. Navigating.de are unable to resolve this, so I am looking for an alternative.
The functions I would like are:
Selectable audio file on first POI warning at selectable time to POI.
Selectable audio file on second POI warning at selectable time to POI.
Selectable audio file on approaching a POI at over a certain speed.
Automatic synchronisation of POI files with a server (currently POI Handler)
One button recording/deleting of POIs at current location.
Can anyone suggest a better alternative that will not give these errors or should I wait for TT6 and see if POIWarner will work with that? |

What kind of SD card are you using? Have you recently done a swipe on it (move all contents off, reformat, move contents back) ?
What other programs are you running in parallel?
The file based communication is the most robust one. If that doesn't work then you have a bigger problem somewhere underneath the hood of your PDA. _________________ Lutz

I have no other programs running at the same time except the standard built in Win2003 operating system.
I have tried a variety of SD cards including HP and Panasonic and do not believe the problem lies there.
I have done a hard reset and re-install and still the problem occurs.
The problem shows by an error message "Handle Command" with the text "No fields in command".
In an earlier post Lutz believed it was a lack of robust error handling.

I don't care about my yesterday's mumblings...
POICapture is using the file based communication too, and so far I haven't heard of any error messages similar to the ones you mentioned.
If you can rule out all SD card related issues then indeed this may be due to the way how they implemented the communication. (You can do it with the TomTom SDK, or you can do it entirely manully) _________________ Lutz
