I am currently in the market for a handheld GPS, I think??? My needs are: I would like to have turn by turn info in my auto. I would also like topo maps for trips into the unknown and off the beaten path with my ATV. I live in Raleigh, NC and ride the ATV in the mountains of NC, Tenn, and WV. I have been doing a bit of reading and searching and the more I search the more I figure I am LOST!!! I was looking at a Garmin Rino 120 cause it has memory but then I hear that the display is too small. I am no kid and need glasses to read but don't wear them to ride the ATV, so now I gotta have something that has a bit of a larger display. Some say wait till Jan and the 60c comes out. Any suggestions ideas, practicle info would be greatly appreciated |

Welcome to the forum,
Now, do you think the Brits know what an ATV is? Anyway, I understand you are looking for two completely different things. Turn by Turn instructions are used in street navigation (they have vector maps). Off road navigation is using topographical (raster) maps. Not many handhelds or PDA programs support both modes with one program - I think Delorme may be the only vendor)
Is ruggedness more important for you than functionality?

Easy, of course we Brits know what an ATV is! It’s an All Terrain Vehicle! ATV is a generic name, which I mainly associate with quad bikes. I’ve used ATVs/Quads on the farm.
However I have more of a problem in guessing what NC, Tenn, and WV are! _________________ Robert.

Tenn I would make the assumption in Tennessee (poss wrong), and WV is West Virginia. |

I am also assuming that NC probably means North Carolina.
