You've shown the first left as a cul-de-sac. Is it actually a road or an entrance to a shopping centre, car park or similar? Is there a dotted 'magenta' line along the first road?

Are the right turns close together if so TomTom may do this as it is quicker to say and assumes that you have looked at the map. Also Your GPS position may have been slightly out, Their are many reasons why TomTom doe's this after all their are millions of roads so their will be a few bugs.

Is your GPS TomTom? (You don't say)

The "turn left then turn right" when there is an intermediate road is a common problem with TomTom systems. Some experience suggests it might be fixed on newer versions, but my TomTom (Mobile) still has this problem.

It is a bit misleading indeed, I have seen TomTom do this.

I agree that it would make more sense if it said turn "right then take the second left" or "turn right and then go 100 yards then turn left".

You just have to look at the screen and see what it is showing on the map.

My girlfriends TomTom ONE will sometimes say "Take the second right" other times not. My TomTom Mobile won't.

Yes, as i said in my first post, its tomtom 5 on my pda.

Maybe i should switch over to destinator.

:/

I'm actually using it on a 50cc moped scooter, so i keep the pda/gps in my armored jackets pocket.

I havent ever heard tomtom5 on my pda say "take the second.. " or anything like that, its either "turn left".. then "after 100 meters, turn right". or, "turn left, then, at the end of the road, turn right."
