why does the gps only alert me about speed cameras when i go over the speed limits...This doesn't make sense to me as if it alerted you all the time it would give you an insite as to where the speed camera's are located in your local area.. this way you can let your freinds know also your not allway's going to have your gps on in your local area as you know you way around... i have tried using the poi loader to do this as it has got the option but doesn't work.. i understand that if you are in a traffic jam there it could get a bit annoying but i think there is a lot more pro's than cons... any help in doing this without opening the scv files up and altering the speed limit's one by one as that could take for ever..would be really appreciated |

Followed your link and found it quite usefull, have also downloaded the program but not too sure how to use it, is there any further info anywhere or could someone please enlighten me on how to use / set up. Probably a few
others would find it usefull also but I`ll ask first.
Thanks in advance.....Dil _________________ ***************************************

I would think twice regarding this, currently the notification for the poi has presidence over the navigation instruction with all the bing's/ bong's going on you could miss the spoken instruction (Comment based on Garmin I3 others may also be affected) |

Most of the time Safety camera are placed in areas where your not getting instructions (yes yes some are going to be placed where you do).
But if you only get warnings about cameras when your over the limit the main problem is if you foolishly overtake someone who has slowed down suddenly to 15 MPH because they know that there is a 50 limit camera ahead . You of course could be new to the area and dash past them muttering muppet under your breath and FLASH BANG WALLOP your done .
Now this might be extreme but my main mode of transport is a motorbike and that can accelerate from 0-60 in under 4 secs so I need to know always when the little devils are around just to make sure I dont twist the throttle at the wrong time and with the freeware available from 2 forum people you can get whatever you want

The thread i gave you above has loads of instructions.
Just drag and drop the ZIP file you downloaded from here onto the lower part of the screen and then it'll output new files to your default POILoader directory. Then upload these new files with POILoader. |

If you've got a question that isn't answered in that thread, you can always ask the author 8)
Either ask in that thread, or PM me if it's embarrassingly silly... |

Right, silly question comming up, just in case someone else is interested.
Having downloaded the program to my documents, when clicking on it again, pops up.....run....click on run and opens up the program. Drag speed files into it as requested. Ok, tells me its done it, then to use poi loader to transfer to gladys, attach gladys which poi loader finds, but then I cant fathom out how to transfer the data from the program . Normally I click on browse and look for : ie speedcamsjune and transfer to gladys, so either I`m tired or just totally stupid, how the hell do you move what you have changed in the program to good old gladys.
When you have been doing it as long as some of you chaps its probably second nature, but some of us are still learning and therefore takes a bit longer to work things out which is why we end up asking stupid questions.
Thanks for reading between the lines by the way.
Regards....Dil _________________ ***************************************

You don't have to - it saves the tweaked files into the last directory used by POI Loader (where any other POIs will be), so they get updated automatically next time POI Loader is run |

Hi Ash / all,
Have just tried loading the new poi`s now using MaFt program, did as you said and used the last file, speedcamsjune, which contains all the other poi`s aswell. Clicked on next and all I get is a teatimer which hangs for ages and I have to cancel the loader.did this three or four times, Where have I gone wrong please?
Should I scrub that file and start again?
Thanks in advance....DIL _________________ ***************************************
