Hi

My HTC Universal / Jasjar (with TomTom) will connect to my BT GPS OK, provided I have the phone on (ie the Jasjar isn't in flight mode).

The TT website FAQ says this isn't a TT problem but happens with some PDAs where the BT won't work if the phone isn't on. Can anyone confirm a) if the Jasjar is one of these and b) if theres any workaround?

Cheers

AFAICR - flight mode turns off all the wireless transmitters on the PDA - including Bluetooth. This is to prevent interference with the aircraft's electrical systems.

This IS a TomTom issue, no matter what they try to tell you otherwise. TomTom have confused "flight mode" with "Bluetooth off". So even if you swithc BT on, and keep the radio off, TomTom will still refuse to work.

On WM2003 machines you can workaround by connecting to "other NMEA GPS" rather than to "other BT" but on the Exec (WM5) this workaround no longer works around... What you can do is switch the GSM radio on, start TomTom, and then switch the GSM radio off again.

Thanks Lutz. I'll do what you suggested (and keep my fingers X that TT fix it on TTN6 ...)
