I've been having this "resetting" problem with my tomtom go 910 ever since I got it on 5/5/06. It seemed to have no particular pattern. Sometimes it would work for half an hour, other times just a few minutes before switching itself off, then on, then off again etc.

And the mount started to droop. The resetting problem seemed to be linked to it somehow not charging. It would even happen when the vehicle was parked. And I'd tried it in two cars (a saab 9000 and a mondeo).

Anyway after four weeks I'd had enough and braved taking it back to Halfords. They told me they'd only ever had one back with that problem, but the bloke disappeared and came back with a new tomtom box. He gave me the new unit (replaced the remote, the unit and the mount and car adapter) without a murmur, apart from apologising for the inconvenience.

Anyway, I've driving with it for about 2 hours and it's not reset yet. The big test will be next week when I'll probably use it a lot.

The odd thing is that this one asked me what language I'd like to use - the first one I had just defaulted to Foreign (OK, I'll stop being so insular - it was Dutch). It found my location pretty quickly too - by the time I'd answered all its questions it had found itself. The other difference I found was that in the previous one I had, it was set to show all speed cameras in all countries, slowing it down a lot. This version was set to show none, but it still warns you of them and shows them only when you're near one.
