Hi

I bought a 910 just over a month ago. It connects fine to my Samsung D500, but when I try to adjust the phone volume in the phone prefs ( the icon that comes up when you're actually talking) it disconnects the phone. I'm using the external mic, but some people say I sound faint and broken up. I have the mic mounted 6-7 inches from my face on the visor.

Anyone had this or throw any light on it?

Cheers
Phil

Have you got the mic in the correct socket? My 510 makes me sound faint & broken up until I plug the mic in

I got rid of an xda lls and tt navigator 5 because I didn't want all that massive cradle crap and wires on my dashboard. I'm not about to replace that with a laptop!

Connecting the external mic makes no noticable difference on mine, people say it sounds crap either way. And I've also noticed that the phone audio icon disconnects the phone (SE K750i, so not a Samsung specific problem).

I've experienced the same thing. I can't hear the other party when I'm calling via my 910. I think the "phone audio" icon means "switch to the phone audio" - i.e. you then have to pick up your phone and talk into it directly. TomTom in their infinite wisdom have decided that we don'rt need to adjust microphone and/or speaker volume when in a call. I think you should be able to adjust both without needing to be in a call. I think what's most likely though is that TomTom don't know how to do this.

I'd like to adjust MP3 and spoken message volumes separetly too because when playing quiet MP3s it hurts when Kate kicks in and shouts directions at me!

Pepperm, if you play your mp3 through external speakers - such as your car stereo - you an alter the playback volume through the stereo - and the voice volume remains constant.
