|
|
Hello .............. I'm hoping someone will be able to solve this little problem for me !
When I go to my 'favourites', just the top 2 appear in the top third of the screen with the letters/numbers grid taking up the rest. I know that the list used to appear from top to bottom of the screen & I don't know why it's now like it is ............... how do I get rid of the grid ? |

That IS a weird one!
Assuming the page you're talking about is the one you gat when you've gone "Navigate to.." / "Favourite", then the screen you are getting sounds like what I get if I press the "keyboard" button at the bottom of the normal Favourites page.
If so... have you got a left arrow button and a "Back" button at the bottom below the QUERTY keyboard? What happens if you tap "Back"?
Otherwise, I'm stumped for now. |

Yes ............. 'Navigate to' plus 'Favourite' gives me the top 2 of my favourites list & the keypad on the rest. If I press the 'Back' button I just go back to the 'Navigate to' options. If I press the left arrow nothing happens ! Obviously I can still scroll down to find the favourite I want but I'd prefer the full screen to be displayed. |

Erm, anyone? Help?
This has got me intrigued, but can't think of anything other than the usual:
Try a reset, if you havent already?
Try updating/reloading the firmware (what version are you running now?)
Hit it? (kidding)
May I post this on another forum too? See if they have any ideas? |

I think we had this query before. You have found a "feature"
You only see the full list of favourites until you use the keypad for the first time......... _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Are you sure? I have used the keypad before and yet I still get the full list and the little keypad icon in the bottom right. _________________ Peter

Andy thanks ........... you're a genius - I hit it and VOILA ............ the full list came back !!! (ok ........ I'm kidding too )
Seriously tho' ........... I'm no techie so I'd prefer to avoid doing a reset or updating anything ........... I did manage to get the cameras on it though !! If you can find the answer I'm happy for you to try anywhere you like
Thanks for the other replies so far as well ............. as I said before, it's not something that has a great effect on my use of the Tom-Tom but it'd be nice to resolve it .............. |

Having said I didn't want to experiment, just this weekend I added a new Favourite, and the dreaded two-line display appeared. I deleted it again and it went back to normal, so it seems 12 Favs. is the maximum before this happens.
The way round it would be to convert some of your Favourites into POIs and keep your Favs list below 12 entries. |

Well done Andy ........... and thanks
I reduced my favourites to 12 as you said & I have my full screen back ...... great !!
I'll also take your advice & create a new POI category for any more favourites I want to add.
Btw ............. I just realised that some of the destinations I have stored in my favourites are places that I don't actually like going to at all - so it seems a bit of a contradiction to call them my 'favourites'
Once again ............ many thanks - I guess it's solved the problem for a lot of others too! |

I know the feeling.... I am REALLY annoyed that I have "Work" in my Favourites. Bugs me every time! |
