I know, its an old school ipaq Smile
I can get the gps working on the Globalsat little gps application on my ipaq so I know the gps is ok but I haven't had any luck with getting TomTom to see it. How do I set it up?

Help much appreciated!

P.S. Just got the br355 and very impressed with it, got signal very quickly the first time I fired it up.

It's version 5.

I will try uninstalling the Globalsat program and report back.

Well gpsn3wbie - you are a genius! I uninstalled the gpsinfo ap that came with the receiver, rebooted, fired up TomTom and bingo bango it got a lock right away.

I've got to say I am very impressed with Sirf III, it beats the daylights out of my frustrating old Sirf II Leadtek receiver. I'm looking forwards to giving it a good old testing on my roadtrip this w/e.

Thanks for such a speedy reply.
Smile

Bit of other info.

I had an iPaq 3630 - very reliable piece of kit - not fast by today's standards but more than enough for navigation. I used it with TT5.21 with both Garmin GPSII+ and GARMIN 135HVS (or is that 136?) anyhow it's was one of their wired GPS "mouse" units that attached magnetically to car/boat etc.

When you run any app that connects to your GPS remember to EXIT the application - not just close it with the X box top RHS of screen before running TT5. Closing an app does not release all the resources it has - which may include your serial port to the GPS.

Active Sync 3.x is very good at doing this - so remember SETTINGS/MEMORY/Stop running programs!

Have fun!

Phil
